Cord blood collection is typically depleted of red blood cells before cryopreservation to ensure high rates of stem cell recovery.[4] After a baby is born and the umbilical cord is cut, some blood remains in the blood vessels of the placenta and the portion of the umbilical cord that remains attached to it. After birth, the baby no longer needs this extra blood. This blood is called placental blood or umbilical cord blood: "cord blood" for short. Cord blood contains all the normal elements of blood - red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma. But it is also rich in hematopoietic (blood-forming) stem cells, similar to those found in bone marrow. This is why cord blood can be used for transplantation as an alternative to bone marrow. Transplants of cord blood stem cells can cure over 80 diseases. Most of the diseases treated by stem cell transplants are rare among children. We can’t keep harping about regressive shows – Karanvir Bohra

The actor comments on the current crop of shows.

Actor Karanvir Bohra, who has been a part of several television shows like Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Just Mohabbat, says a hit show may take turns that aren’t exactly progressive, but we cannot keep harping about regressive shows on the Indian small screen.
“A lot of people believe that TV has become regressive. Each to their own. As far as the work I have been doing, I like it,” Karanvir stated.
The actor says that the shows he has been involved with have not been regressive.
“Whether it’s Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Dil Se Di Dua..S.aubhagyavati Bhava?, Qubool Hai, Naagin 2 or for that matter hosting India’s Best Judwaah right now, none of them were regressive in anyway,” he added.
However, he believes that a hit show leads to a lot of regressive content on TV.
“But yes, what happens is a hit show leads to a lot of other regressive shows (following suit) but we cannot keep harping about regressive shows. We do have a lot of path breaking shows as well and it’s a matter of time when the break through happens when (Indian) TV touches Hollywood level kind of television (shows). It’s only a matter of time,” Karanvir said.
